Historical English measures
Convert rods, chains, furlongs, and other English lengths using a modern SI yard reference.

How it works
- Converted estimate = × Conversion factor
- Yard = 0.9144 m; Rod / pole / perch = 5.5 × Yard
- Chain = 22 × Yard; Furlong = 220 × Yard; Mile = 1,760 × Yard
- Worked example: Convert ten chains using 22 yards per chain and the modern 0.9144 m yard. Ten chains also equal one furlong in this normalized system.
- 10 × 22 × 0.9144 = 201.168 m.

Assumptions and limitations
Historical English ratios are normalized to the 1,963 SI yard (0.9144 m). This does not reconstruct medieval or pre-1963 physical standards.
