Flight elapsed time
Calculate elapsed time from local departure and arrival dates, times and time zones. Change the inputs to update the chart or diagram.
Your inputs
Values shown are editable examples; verify your own measurements and product specifications. Results update as you edit.
Calculations run in your browser. Inputs are not saved or sent to analytics.
How it works
- Departure in UTC = UTC( + ); Arrival in UTC = UTC( + )
- Elapsed flight time = (Arrival in UTC − Departure in UTC) / 3,600,000 ms
- Worked example: 2026-10-09 17:00 Asia/Tokyo → 2026-10-09 11:00 America/Los_Angeles ⇒ 10 h

Assumptions and limitations
Enter full local dates, not just clock times, using 1,970–2,100. Select each IANA time zone manually; there is no airport lookup. Browser time-zone rules determine UTC instants and may become outdated. Nonexistent times during clock changes are rejected; choose the first or second occurrence separately for repeated departure and arrival times. The interval includes whatever time lies between your entries, including stopovers. No schedule, delay, airborne-time or leap-second model is supplied.
