3D-printing job cost
Estimate filament, power, machine time and retry costs for one finished print. Change the inputs to update the chart or diagram.
Your inputs
These editable values illustrate the calculation. Replace them with your own inputs. Results update as you edit.
Calculations run in your browser. Inputs are not saved or sent to analytics.
How it works
- Filament per attempt = / ×
- Expected finished-job cost = (Filament per attempt + Electricity per attempt + Machine cost per attempt) / (1 − / 100) + Labor per finished job +
- Worked example: (1.25 + 0.06 + 1) / 0.9 + 3 = 5.56666667

Assumptions and limitations
Enter slicer estimates and your own prices in one currency. Each failed attempt is assumed to consume the full entered filament, electricity and machine time, independently, with the same failure probability (0–99%). Preparation, finishing and other costs apply once per finished job. This expected-cost model excludes inferred taxes and selling margins; it does not inspect print files.
