Filament length and weight
Convert meters and grams using filament diameter and your material’s density. Drag the graph handles to change inputs and explore the result.
Your inputs
Example values are editable. Use your measurements and product specifications. Results update as you edit.
Calculations run in your browser. Inputs are not saved or sent to analytics.
How it works
- Weight per meter = π × ( / 2)² ×
- = / Weight per meter

Assumptions and limitations
Uniform solid circular filament. Enter density from the actual material specification and net filament mass excluding the spool. Diameter variation, moisture and filled/foamed material differences are not inferred. Example density 1.24 g/cm³ is illustrative. A 1.75 mm filament has a cross-section of approximately 2.405 mm².
