Average and descriptive statistics
Summarize a number list with average, median, modes, spread and optional weighted mean. Change the inputs to update the chart or diagram.
Your inputs
The editable example is illustrative. Enter your own dimensions, operating data, prices, and fees. Results update as you edit.
Calculations run in your browser. Inputs are not saved or sent to analytics.
How it works
- Arithmetic mean = Σ ÷ n; Population standard deviation = √(Σ(−Arithmetic mean)² ÷ n); Sample standard deviation = √(Σ(−Arithmetic mean)² ÷ (n−1)); Weighted mean = Σ ÷ Σ
- Worked example: 1;2;2;5 ⇒ Sum 10; Arithmetic mean 2.5; Median 2; All tied modes 2; Range 4; Population standard deviation 1.5
- Supported input limits: : n ≤ 250,000; : n ≤ 250,000

Assumptions and limitations
Separate values with semicolons, spaces or newlines. Weights affect only the separately reported weighted mean, not median, modes or standard deviation. Sample deviation requires at least two values; these descriptive results do not establish statistical significance.
